Guides
Practical answers to the questions people ask before they buy a teleprompter, including the ones where the answer is a different tool. Each page says when it was last checked.
-
A teleprompter you pay for once
What paying once buys, six questions to ask of anything sold that way, and when a subscription is the better buy.
-
Your notes and your slides, in Teams, on one monitor
PowerPoint Live, a slide show in a window, or Terera on top of the slide show on Windows.
-
Reading a teleprompter without moving your eyes
Distance, line width and the lens: how to make the movement small, and where to put it.
-
A teleprompter for Microsoft Teams
What the meeting can see, the methods that need nothing extra, and Terera on Windows and Mac.
-
A teleprompter for Zoom
What Zoom sends when you share, its Portion of Screen method, and Terera on Windows and Mac.
-
A teleprompter for scripts that cannot leave the machine
Where the speech recognition runs, what the app connects for, how to watch it yourself, and the limits.
-
A teleprompter for Windows
Windows 10 and 11: on top of a full-screen slide show on Windows, click-through, the keys, sharing and setup.
-
A teleprompter for Mac
macOS 15.5 or later, Apple silicon or Intel: what works, what to check before a call, and setup.
-
A teleprompter that follows your voice word by word
The four things it does, shown in one real take, and what to ask before you buy one.
How these guides are written
Sourced and dated
Every fact about another company’s product links to that company’s own documentation, and each guide gives the date we checked it.
The other tool, when it fits
When the software you already have, or a different tool, does the job better, the guide says so.
Only what has been shown
Terera’s claims are the ones the rest of this site makes. What has not been recorded on a Mac is not claimed for a Mac.
