Is there a Windows version of Moody?
No. As of 1 October 2026, Moody’s site answers “Not currently” and says Moody is built for the macOS notch. Terera runs on Windows 10 and 11 and on macOS 15.5 or later under one licence.
Two desktop prompters that follow your voice, with speech recognition on your own computer.
Moody is made for a MacBook’s notch. Terera is made for the call, on Windows or a Mac.
Moody is a Mac app that puts your script in the notch at the top of a MacBook screen, just below the camera, or in a floating window. Its text scrolls as you speak, its voice processing runs on your Mac, and you pay for it once. Terera is a desktop app for Windows and Mac that floats over your call or slides. It follows your voice word by word, waits when you pause, holds your place when you go off script, and resumes when you return to the script. You pay for it once too.
Your script and your voice should stay on your computer. Moody’s security page says “Voice processing and noise suppression run entirely on your device” and that microphone audio “is never saved to disk or transmitted.” Terera makes the same choice: speech recognition runs on your own computer. Both are paid for once, and neither asks you to create an account.
Moody
The MacBook. Moody sits in the notch, directly below the camera, or in a floating window you can put anywhere, and it stays on top of full-screen apps. It costs less than half of Terera’s price. Since version 1.5 it imports PDF, RTF and HTML files as well as Word, text and Markdown, and version 1.6 added screen recording with your camera in a bubble. There is also a separate Moody app for iPhone and iPad.
Moody says that when you share your screen, only you can see the prompter, and that it stays out of screenshots too. Terera makes no hiding promise on a Mac, where many sharing tools capture it anyway. Screen-share hiding depends on the capture method your app uses, so check your sharing preview before a live call.
Moody goes online for update checks and, if you allow it, anonymous usage statistics. Terera needs the network for model downloads and licensing, including periodic licence checks; your script, audio and rehearsal history are not included in those requests. If you present from a MacBook and want the script in the notch, Moody is built for exactly that, and it costs less.
Terera
Windows. Asked whether there will be a Windows version, Moody’s site answers “Not currently.” Terera runs on Windows 10 and 11 and on macOS 15.5 or later, and one licence covers three of your own machines on either.
What happens when you leave the script. Moody says its text “scrolls as you speak and pauses when you pause”; if you lose your place, its site suggests hovering your cursor to pause, scrolling with your trackpad or using keyboard shortcuts. Terera follows your voice word by word, waits when you pause, holds your place when you go off script, and resumes when you return to the script.
The call and the deck. Terera’s overlay passes your clicks through to the slide or call beneath. On Windows it stays above a full-screen slideshow and can be left out of a screen share. Screen-share hiding depends on the capture method your app uses, so check your sharing preview before a live call. Terera also holds the script in fixed reading positions for two listeners or a room, which Moody does not document.
Your formatting and your money back. Terera imports Word documents and keeps bold, italics and colour; Moody’s changelog says it imports DOCX files but not whether their formatting comes with them. Terera’s refund runs thirty days, no reason needed. Moody’s site offers help rather than a refund: if Moody doesn’t work on your setup, it asks you to email within seven days of purchase so it can help you fix it. We found no refund terms on Moody’s site.
